“Rise Up” Institute
Members attending the 2018 Convention will be part of the first graduating class of the AFSCME “Rise Up” Institute.
The 2018 “Rise Up” Institute will offer workshops in four critical areas: Organizing, Political & Legislative, Communications, and Representation. Members participating in the Institute will select one area.
In addition to track workshops, additional courses include leadership development, organizing by work sectors, and planning. Members in the AFSCME “Rise Up” Institute who complete workshops within their selected track will be recognized at the concluding “Taking it Home! Planning and Strategy Session.”
