There were two nominees Tuesday for the position of International secretary-treasurer, who serves as our union’s chief financial officer.
Elissa McBride and Donna Stern of AFSCME Local 140, Council 25 (Michigan), will face off in the election, which will be held Thursday.
As the main steward of the union’s member resources, the winner will play a pivotal role in steering AFSCME through a challenging time in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in the Janus v. AFSCME Council 31 case.
Nominated for the office of International vice president for the Southern New England Legislative District were: Jody Barr of Local 2836, Council 4 (Connecticut) and Charles Della Rocco of Local 749, Council 4. They will square off on Thursday.
