Heather Booth is ‘Changing the World’

A Special Movie Screening

Renowned organizer, activist and cherished member of the AFSCME family, Heather Booth, is the subject of the acclaimed and inspiring movie, “Heather Booth: Changing the World.” The film will have a special screening right here at the AFSCME 43rd International Convention in Room 260 on Monday.

The movie will be shown about 30 minutes after the convention adjourns for the day.

Booth, along with her late husband, AFSCME’s own Paul Booth, has pushed for labor and civil rights throughout her career. “Changing the World” tells the story of organizing during challenging times.

Among the topics the film explores are her involvement with civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer, the role Booth played in the Freedom Summer Project and her relationships with leaders such as civil rights activist Julian Bond and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Heather Booth will be on hand to answer questions and lead a discussion following the screening.
