At a Crucial Time in Our History, AFSCME Must ‘Rise Up’

f t e +

AFSCME delegates and alternates from across the country will meet at our union’s 43rd International Convention this summer at a crucial time in our history.

Since the last convention, AFSCME has succeeded in fending off unprecedented attacks while strengthening our union at the most local level. We’ve reengaged with our coworkers through one-on-one communications to meet working people where they are at. AFSCME Strong has given local leaders the strategies and tools to thrive in any political environment, including right-to-work.

But we can’t let up. It’s time to “Rise Up” and take AFSCME Strong to the next level.

See instructions on modifiying your convention registration.

Members at this year’s convention will have the opportunity to be part of the first graduating class of the AFSCME “Rise Up” Institute. The institute will offer advanced training to give activists the tools they need to successfully build power, advocate for working families, and communicate in 2018 and beyond.

“Rise Up” Institute workshops will be offered in areas that include: organizing, political and legislative strategies, representation, communications. There will also be electives on leadership and sector organizing.

Delegates, alternates, members and retirees can sign up for the AFSCME “Rise Up” Institute at registration, but you can avoid the lines in Boston by signing up ahead of time at 2018.afscme.org.

You can also modify your registration and change the workshops if you have already registered for convention by clicking on the “Already Registered” link on this page.

Space is filling up quickly, so we highly recommend signing up before you get to Convention!
